Going into college, I never would have expected that one day a professor would grade my final presentation saying, “I also thought your horse poop slide was wonderful. A bonus for that!”

Why do I have to wait so long to become a real adult

Trying to decide if I want to drink wine tonight and clean to emotional artsy music or if I want to day-drink tomorrow and clean to peppy indie rock.

Life is really hard when you’re on break and everyone is gone or on co-op. I really need to meet people that aren’t from NEU so that there wouldn’t be wasted opportunity like this. But how do you even do that?

Rainy Day Canapé - Dorothea Tanning, 1970

From the Philadelphia Museum of Art:

When asked about her work, the American Surrealist artist Dorothea Tanning explained: “This terribly non-mainstream piece was, more than anything, a challenge to myself, a bet that I made with myself, and only me, that I would give real physical life to a bunch of tweeds and stuffing. Now, when you look at its triumphant? paroxysmic? despairing? physicality you are not quite sure that materials are only tools, that the inert is the inert, that life is something else. But one thing you know: that like you and me and everyone else, this Rainy-Day Canapé will not live for centuries. But how could we care?”
